“What day is it even?”
Dear Readers,
Everyone is all “aggghhhh what day is it this week exists outside of time and space” but, readers, I have a dayjob, and a dayjob in which it is vital to know what day of the week and month it is on any given day, so it is not weird for me. And we opened a movie on Christmas Day, so it’s also not quiet! Well, it’s a little quiet. Quiet day NOT silent day.
I made a massive Christmas feast as always, and that is to feed just myself and my mother, as that’s generally been the entirety of the gathering since my father died nearly nine years ago. We love leftovers! And not choosing between which potatoes we have!
Anyway, here is what I made this year. It’s too much, I know! Believe it or not, I had MORE to make but I bailed because of time/stress/energy.
The night before…made this strata (I subbed cheddar for gruyere) and then popped into the oven on Christmas morning, no muss/fuss!
Main course was gochujang beef bourguignon! Leftovers for days (or weeks if it makes it to the freezer!)!
