Maybe you think you can just SAY THINGS.
Dear Readers,
In most ways I think of myself as a Scully. I do NOT want to believe!!! I think most things are explained with science and facts. I love math! That said, there is one otherworldly/supernatural/whatever thing I believe in, and that thing is JINXING.
You will see authors talking about their UNSOLD first drafts and meanwhile I am like screaming at my screen DO NOT TELL ANYONE ABOUT THAT WHAT IF YOU FAIL? You know the whole “what would you do if you knew you could not fail” adage, I am the opposite, just a little freak screaming you could lose it all.
WHY? Well I hate losing it all! I hate being disappointed. I hate getting my heart set on things and then not getting those things. (I think this explains why if shoes are on sale and they’re out of my size that I will then HUNT THEM DOWN AND PAY FULL-PRICE ELSEWHERE even if before I browsed the sales selection I didn’t even care.)
I also extremely hate being vulnerable, GROSS. Probably a lot of Millennials read this, and, congrats to you, for having a bunch of stuff balanced well, like the way you show earnest emotions. NOT THIS OLD PERSON who is content to feel things privately and then ironically detach from all of them publicly. I don’t even know how to make my voice sound genuine when I am genuine.
