It's the New Year and It's (Literally) on Fire
I also fell directly on my face and evacuated a theater!!!!
Just Bad Stuff
Dear Readers,
OMFG I had a note in my planner to write A FUN NEW YEARS POST and instead I am reloading the fire evacuation map for Los Angeles and crossing my fingers that the winds continue to die down.
Last week I tripped over something very stupid and wiped out in a parking lot, knocking my mouth directly into the concrete. (The fact that I didn’t break/lose any teeth feels like a miracle, and I remind myself of that every time I get upset about the fact that I did scrape one of the lens on my glasses and am out the money to replace it, an item that is surely cheaper than ALL OF MY FRONT TEETH.)
Later on, last week, there was a scary incident at the theater where I was seeing Babygirl (I know) and most of us evacuated, fearing the worst.
Y’all, it is literally only January 8.
I want to share with you so much stuff — my thoughts about getting going on creative projects in 2025, a nice trade review for On Her Terms, notes on process, updates on my romance writing class, updates on being in the midst of awards season for my dayjob, and more! But I just don’t feel like this week is the time.
If you’re in LA, I hope you’re safe from the fires. (If you’re elsewhere, I hope you’re safe in general!)
xoxoAmy
When you wrote, it's only January 8th, I kind of burst out laughing. How? HOW?!?! JFC.
Stay safe, Amy!
