Dear Readers,
It’s true, I have mainly stopped listening to podcasts. FOR THIS MOMENT not like forever.
If you’re anything like me, you may believe that the more political podcast content you consume, the more you and your mind can control the election or at least control how you feel about it if it goes poorly later on. I mean, not like, literally, but also maybe just a little. And there is a lot of content out there and, trust me, on my commute, I can consume all of it!
Simultaneously I was also working on a first draft, which is A ROMANCE NOVEL and not some kind of ANXIETY DREAM ABOUT DEMOCRACY.
We all have different writing routines and methods. Hell, I don’t have the same one book-to-book. But one thing I keep coming back around to is having the brainspace to DWELL ON IT.
You’ve probably heard writers talk to an annoying degree about places they have ideas, like in the shower or walking the dog, i.e. places without screens and also often when you’re doing something physical (I mean a shower isn’t THAT physical but you know you’re not sitting down probably and you are also likely scrubbing something like your hair sorry this got so weird talking about other people’s showering habits but not weird enough I’m deleting this).
