Sunlight!!
Dear Readers,
For the record I still hate heat and dread summer! But, wow, I have come around on Daylight Savings, a practice that once gave me severe anxiety and sleep deprivation and a million other things I did not care for. Now? I am just really grateful it’s light out when I get off of work. I love taking my dog for a leisurely walk after work without needing her light-up harness.
Now, do I think we need to sink back into a pit of darkness again in November? NO! This is silly and we should just stop it. Pick a time, and that’s the time. I was actually in Tucson this year during Daylight Savings and they didn’t do it, and even though I LOVE saving daylight, I was like, GOOD FOR THEM!
When I was little, I was 1) living in Missouri and 2) terrified of tornadoes, and I would get distracted staring at the sky all day waiting for it to turn green or form terrifying thunderheads. So I loved when nighttime started, because I could stop scanning the sky. Also statistically less likely for tornadoes then!! As you can imagine, I loved the end of Daylight Savings then. As you can also imagine, I was not a fun child.
I hope you’re also enjoying the sunshine if that is a thing you like to enjoy.
In completely unrelated news, I have a new web site! And you’re going to love it too! I mean, if “web sites” are the kinds of things you “love”!
The site was designed and created by Werewolf Girlfriend! If you are an author/artist/musician/other creative and need a web site, I could not recommend them more highly, and feel free to tell them I sent you!
xoxoAmy

Eating
If your ideal salad is just a fairly generic side salad with ranch dressing, the Everyday Butter Lettuce Salad Kit from Trader Joe’s is speaking your language (and mine too).
Listening
If you know me well you know that one of my interests is the sociology of the AIDS pandemic (sure not only was I not a fun child I am not sure I’m a fun adult), so I started listening to Blindspot this season as soon as I heard about its topic. In covering the stories of people normally pushed to the margins, even within the worlds of AIDS activism, it’s a riveting and important listen.
Reading
Lyz Lenz’s This American Ex-Wife, which is as potent as I expected from this book! (COMPLEMENTARY).
Also Eating
I am lowkey obsessed with Starbucks’ Potato, Cheddar, and Chive Bakes, which seemingly went away for awhile but now they’re back? Delicious!!
I actually think I am fun but you see the things I do for entertainment, ymmv. Actually I’ve thought about it even more and maybe fun is overrated, maybe it’s OK that I’m not fun.
Fun is subjective! The things you enjoy are fun to YOU and that’s what’s important!
